Denver news, Colorado news.

A Colorado boy was declared brain-dead and likely won’t survive the complications of his participation in TikTok’s Blackout Challenge.

Joshua Haileyesus, 12, had a shoelace around his neck when his twin brother discovered him unconscious in the bathroom on March 22.

“The doctors told me the bad news that he’s not going to survive, he’s not going to make it,” the boy’s grieving dad, Haileyesus Zeryihun, said.

The child had previously told his brother that he could hold his breath for over a minute.

“He’s a fighter. I can see him fighting. I’m praying for him every day. It’s just heartbreaking to see him laying on the bed.”
