A tragic and uncommon incident on Interstate 69 in Texas has claimed the life of a 52-year-old mom traveling southbound with her 17-year-old son Thursday.

Carol Hardy was behind the wheel of her car when suddenly a tire flew off another vehicle driving northbound, bounced over the median, and crashed into her windshield.
