A Detroit news anchor and TV producer had passed away Tuesday, one day after she got the Covid vaccine, her grieving husband said.
Karen Hudson-Samuels, 68, was found dead at her home when her husband Cliff Samuels returned home.
“We suspect it may have just been a stroke but because of the normal side effects of the vaccine, it may have masked that,” Samuels said.
“Hopefully, we’ll know soon from the autopsy report.”
Hudson-Samuels worked at the country’s first black-owned TV station and helped begin the William V. Banks Broadcast Museum.
“When this museum got into the national registry, she was very, very proud,” Samuels added.
WWJ Reporter Vickie Thomas also mourned Hudson-Samuels’ death: “She was just a beautiful person. It’s such a huge loss for this community.”
