Nationwide manhunt continues for Florida suspect who stole car with 30 Covid vaccine vials

Plant City Police are actively looking for a suspect who stole a car carrying 30 Covid vaccine vials from a parking lot on Wednesday.

Inside the 2018 Hyundai Accent was 30 vials of the precious refrigerated vaccines worth $10,000.

The van carrying the jabs was parked at the Strawberry Festival Grounds parking lot at around 3 p.m. when the robbery occurred.

  • Officers said that the keys were in the car’s ignition when the long-haired suspect stepped in.

    “The Plant City Police Department is requesting community assistance regarding the subject in the video,” police said in a statement with surveillance footage of the incident.

    “This is a person of interest involving a stolen four-door, gray in color, 2018 Hyundai Accent with a Florida tag of NPJJ53.”

    “This vehicle contained vials of the Covid-19 vaccine. If you have any information pertaining to this subject or the location of the stolen vehicle, please contact the Plant City Police Department at 813-757-9200.
