Workers at a Frederickson, Washington recycling plant called 911 to report a human body that emerged with recyclables Thursday.
Pierce County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene at around noon and closed down the site for investigation.
“Detectives are on scene at a recycling plant in Frederickson where workers there discovered a body that came in with recyclables,” the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.
“An investigation is underway and we will post more information as it becomes available.”
The incident mirrors another that occurred last year at a Creedmore, Texas plant, where workers sorting through recyclables on a conveyor belt stumbled upon the man’s body and called police.
In March 2020, the body of 31-year-old Collen LeBlanc also came in on a conveyor belt in an East Travis County plant but authorities did not suspect foul play in his death.
