Body comes in with recyclables at Washington plant prompting police investigation

Workers at a Frederickson, Washington recycling plant called 911 to report a human body that emerged with recyclables Thursday.

Pierce County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene at around noon and closed down the site for investigation.

“Detectives are on scene at a recycling plant in Frederickson where workers there discovered a body that came in with recyclables,” the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.

    The incident mirrors another that occurred last year at a Creedmore, Texas plant, where workers sorting through recyclables on a conveyor belt stumbled upon the man’s body and called police.

    In March 2020, the body of 31-year-old Collen LeBlanc also came in on a conveyor belt in an East Travis County plant but authorities did not suspect foul play in his death.
