DC news, Washington news.

During a closed session with Congress members, the acting chief of the Metropolitan Police Department mentioned that a second DC officer died by suicide following the January 6 riots.

Officer Jeffery Smith took his own life shortly after the insurrection just as did Capitol Police Officer Howard Liebengood.

A third officer, Brian Sicknick, passed away after being beaten with a fire extinguisher during the mayhem.
