DC news, Washington news.

Authorities released the identity of a San Diego, California woman who was fatally shot by Capitol police after breaking into the building during Wednesday’s mayhem.

Ashli Babbit, 35, served 14 years in the Air Force and was a fervent Trump supporter and “great patriot” according to her husband.

One day before her death, Babbit said on Twitter: “Nothing will stop us…they can try and try and try but the storm is here and it is descending upon DC in less than 24 hours…dark to light.”

An eyewitness from the shooting scene described how Babbit was gunned down just after fellow protesters smashed the windows and doors into the building.

“A number of police cops and secret service were saying ‘get back, get down, get out of the way,” the witness said.
