Boston news, Massachusetts news.

A Boston Medical Center doctor had his lifetime’s fear when he got the Covid Moderna vaccine at the hospital on Thursday.

Dr. Hossein Sadrzadeh said that he knew he was extremely allergic to shellfish and that he was at risk of an allergic reaction to the vaccine and was still “scared to death.”

“I knew the symptoms. I had the experience. I was a physician, and I was scared to death. Imagine someone who does not have the information.”

“I want people to carry their EpiPen if they have it at home and also inform the person that is administering that injection to them that they have a severe allergic reaction.”

The doctor’s reaction is one of the first reported for Moderna vaccine after similar reactions were sparked by Pfizer vaccine.

Sadrzadeh said that he will be offering blood samples to Moderna to help in their research on the vaccine reactions.
