2nd federal death row inmate executed in one week ‘heaved & shake uncontrollably’ as he received lethal injection

3years ago

Terre Haute news, Indiana news.

Even in a sound-proof execution room, those who witnessed Alfred Bourgeois’ death last Friday could imagine the pain that the lethal injection caused him as it was being administered.

The 56-year-old “monster dad” who maintained his innocence until his last moments heaved and quivered uncontrollably after getting the pentobarbital jab.

Bourgeois was put to death for the gruesome torture, rape, and murder of his 2-year-old daughter back in 2002.

He is the 10th inmate to be executed since President Trump's administration stopped the 17-year hiatus of federal death sentences. One day earlier, Brandon Bernard, 40, met his end after spending two decades on death row.

“I did not commit this crime. I love my kids with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength,” Bourgeois said just before he was put to death.

“I confess and repent to God all I have ever said and done against your will. I ask for forgiveness for all those who planted and plotted evidence in my home and truck.”

“For they know not what they did. God, I love you with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength. I pray you to welcome me into your kingdom. As I close my eyes may I enter into your hands and kingdom.”
