Fort Bragg officials have shed more light on the grisly finding of two deceased bodies at the military base training area on Wednesday.
It was revealed that the dead were Master Sgt. William J. Lavigne II, and Army Veteran Timothy Dumas, ages 37 and 44 respectively.
Foul play is suspected in the two deaths and official military training has nothing to do with the case despite the fact that their bodies were found in the training area.
Lavigne joined the army in 2001 and was deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq more than once.
“The loss of a Soldier is always tragic,” Lt. Col. Justin Duvall said in a statement.
“Master Sgt. Lavigne dedicated himself to the Army for 19 years and deployed multiple times in the defense of our Nation. Our condolences go out to his family during this difficult time.”
