Argentina news, World news.

Soccer’s greatest star Diego Maradona died of a heart attack on Wednesday, according to the Associated Press.

At 60-year-old, Maradona didn’t last long after undergoing critical brain surgery to remove a blood clot earlier this month.

The Argentinian legend survived two heart attacks prior to the fatal one and underwent gastric bypass surgery.

The country will mourn the loss of the 1986 World Cup winner for three days, according to Argentina's President office.

Maradona has fascinated soccer fans over his two-decade career in the game and especially with his particular style of play that couldn’t be imitated.

The “Golden Boy” had regrettably ended his outstanding career with addictions and troubles with his national team that he coached from 2008 to 2010.

But his personal blunders changed nothing to Argentinians’ love and idolizing toward their gifted star, their “Pibe de Oro.”

“You took us to the top of the world,” Argentine President Alfredo Fernandez said.

“You made us incredibly happy. You were the greatest of all.”
