Florida boy, 10, succumbs to weeks of ‘unimaginable abuse’ at hands of mom, boyfriend

A Florida boy has last week succumbed to prolonged abuse he suffered at the hands of his mother and her boyfriend, police in Tavares said.

Xavier Williams, 10, took “his last breath” at 5:18 p.m. Friday, his aunt said. The boy suffered weeks of “unspeakable abuse from his mother and her boyfriend.”

“This innocent child’s life was marked by unspeakable suffering, and his loss has deeply shaken our community and everyone involved in this case,” the police department said.

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to securing justice for this child and ensuring accountability for the heinous acts committed,”

    On Feb. 22, the couple brought Xavier to Advent Health Waterman hospital with injuries consistent with physical abuse but left upon learning that police were contacted.

    Xavier was “covered with bruises in various stages of healing, burn marks and other injuries.”

    Investigators said the boy had been “beaten and tortured by his mother and her boyfriend,” who used duct tape, a six-foot ladder, and weights to inflict harm on the child.
