Former U.S. Attorney in Virginia Jessica Aber was found dead in an Alexandria home early Saturday, police said. She was 43.
Aber was found unresponsive inside the residence on Beverly Drive at around 9:18 a.m. She was declared dead at the scene.
The cause and manner of Aber’s death remain under investigation.
Aber resigned following President Trump’s inauguration after serving as U.S. Attorney in Virginia for most of the precedent administration.
“We are heartbroken beyond words to learn of the passing of our friend and former colleague, U.S. Attorney Jessica Aber,” said U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Erik Siebert.
“She was unmatched as a leader, mentor, and prosecutor and she is simply irreplaceable as a human being,”
“We remain in awe of how much she accomplished in her all too brief time in this world.”
