A New Mexico mother was found shot to death in her Farmington home on Wednesday just days after she was accused of locking her 15-year-old daughter in a chicken coop.
Patricia Madrid, 36, succumbed to her injuries at San Juan Regional Medical Center shortly after she was found suffering from gunshot wounds inside her home at around 8 a.m.
Police released surveillance footage depicting a person of interest after walking into a wooded area after the shooting.
Madrid and Jammy Jackson, 59, were on Feb. 18 arrested on child abuse charges after their 15-year-old daughter accused them of keeping her in a chicken coop outside the home in extreme weather.
The teen also claimed her parents only allowed her to use the bathroom twice a day and fed her ramen noodles.
