Investigation ongoing after California boy, 2, found dead in car

A 2-year-old boy was found dead inside a vehicle Sunday evening, authorities in Folsom said.

First responders were at the scene outside a Donnelly Circle residence just before 7 p.m. after receiving a medical call.

Theo Patterson, 2, was found unresponsive inside a car. He died despite immediate attempts to save his life, the Folson Fire Department said.

As of Monday, the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office continued listing the boy’s cause of death as “undetermined.”

“As with any unexpected death, we are investigating the circumstances,” authorities said.
