Boston news, Massachusetts news.

A talented Massachusetts basketball player did not get the chance to play for his college after he was fatally shot in a targeted attack early Wednesday.

Carl Hens Beliard, an 18-year-old Salem State University freshman, was shot and killed at around 1:30 a.m. inside a vehicle.

“This does not appear to be a random act of violence or that there is any ongoing threat to the SSU community,” police said.
