Two military bases on Oahu, Hawaii went into a temporary lockdown after an “active shooter situation” Thursday, authorities said.

U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii spokesperson Michael Donnelly said that no shots were fired when an armed man got into a scuffle with soldiers at the base.

The suspect went on the lam with the Army and Honolulu police launching a joint manhunt to locate him.

The suspect was described as 5 feet 10 inches tall and wearing an aloha shirt and jeans. He also had a Mohawk-type haircut.

Army officials said that the man was spotted on a bike near the Schofield commissary.

Donnelly said the man was “trying to allegedly talk with soldiers” at Schofield Barracks.

“I don’t know if he was bartering or selling stuff, but someone confronted him, and they got into a scuffle. There was a handgun witnessed, visible.”

Following the incident, neighboring Wheeler Army Airfield went into lockdown along with two public schools on Schofield.
