House fire kills pregnant mother, 2 young daughters in Ohio

A pregnant woman and her two daughters were killed in a tragic house fire early Monday, authorities in Kingsville Township, Ohio, said.

The Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Office identified the victims as a 24-year-old mother and her two daughters, ages 8 and 2.

Firefighters responded to the family’s mobile home in the 5700 block of South Wright Street shortly before 5 a.m. and found the residence engulfed in flames.

The fire destroyed the house before firefighters could get the situation under control.

    The cause of the fire remains unclear. The Ohio State Fire Marshal is investigating the blaze.

    “Please, as a reminder for all to ensure you have a working smoke detector on every level of your house and in every bedroom,” the city’s fire department said.
