A single mother of four survived four battles against breast cancer before being senselessly shot and killed inside her home.

Jennifer James was fatally struck by a stray bullet that pierced through the window of her Berthoud, Colorado home.

The 49-year-old victim was undergoing chemotherapy, her family said. She was first diagnosed with cancer when she was 29.
