Houston boy, 7, struck in head by stray bullet while eating McDonald’s at home: ‘He was bleeding’

A 7-year-old Houston boy miraculously survived a near-fatal shot after he was struck in the head by a stray bullet while eating a McDonald’s Happy Meal at home early Tuesday morning.

Gunfire erupted outside the boy’s apartment complex on Northborough Drive at around 12:30 a.m. when two groups of people shot at each other.

Little Anthony had just returned home with his mother and siblings and was enjoying chicken nuggets when he was shot to the head.

  • “He was bleeding, he was talking. I’m like, ‘What happened, baby? What happened? Are you OK?’ I was just trying to keep him awake,” a neighbor said.

    The boy underwent surgery for a fractured skull and remains hospitalized in stable condition.

    Police are looking for surveillance footage that may lead to an arrest and Crime Stoppers of Houston are offering a $5,000 for any relevant information related to the incident.
