Mass. college student falls to death from hotel balcony while on trip to Bahamas

A Massachusetts college student fell to his death Sunday while on a trip to the Bahamas, a week before he was set to graduate.

Gaurav Jaisingh, 21, accidentally plunged from a balcony at Atlantis Paradise Island Resort and Casino at around 10 p.m.

“[Jaisingh] was inside his hotel room with other roommates when it was reported that he accidentally fell from an upper-level balcony. He was later found unresponsive on a lower floor,” the Royal Bahamas Police Force said.

    The victim was a finance major at Bentley University and a member of the Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity.

    “We are profoundly sad to confirm that one of our students, Gaurav Jaisingh, passed away last night in a tragic accident during the annual senior class trip in the Bahamas,” the university said.
