Phoenix news, Arizona news.

The body of a missing Oregon woman was found hours after she went hiking at the Deem Hills Recreational Area in Phoenix.

Fire officials said that the death of 34-year-old Jessica Christine Lindstrom appears to be heat-related after she vanished nine hours into her hike.

The body was found after an extensive search of the remote trail that involved drones and technical rescue teams.

“Unfortunately, Ms. Lindstrom was in town from Oregon, where it doesn't get this hot,” Douglas added.

Lindstrom once lived in the Phoenix suburb of Peoria before moving to Oregon where she worked as a registered nurse. She was visiting family when she left for the hike on Friday.
