Wilmington news, Delaware news.

Biden’s first flight on Air Force One was to Wilmington, Delaware to spend the Super Bowl weekend with family and loved ones.

In the meanwhile, the CDC and Dr. Fauci repeated their calls to people to avoid unnecessary travel and gatherings during the bid events as possible to keep new Covid infections in decrease.

Reporters did not miss to question White House Secretary Jen Psaki about the President’s travel that seems to ignore the CDC recommendation.

“He is from Delaware and has a home there and is going to spend the weekend with his wife and family there,” the official responded.

Pressed further about the matter, she added: “The key is ensuring that people don’t take steps to make others vulnerable in our effort to get the pandemic under control.”

Biden’s trip to Delaware during the Super Bowl weekend may have not been the best example to set, especially after Dr. Fauci’s pleas.

“You don’t want parties with people that you haven’t had much contact with,” the expert said. “You just don’t know if they’re infected, so as difficult as that is, at least this time around, just lay low and cool it.”

Rochelle Walensky, head of the CDC echoed the same fears: “I’m worried about Super Bowl Sunday, quite honestly. People gather; they watch games together.

We’ve seen outbreaks already from football parties. SO I really do think that we need to watch this and be careful.”
