Skydiver dead after colliding with another jumper’s parachute near Georgia airport

A skydiver was killed in a tragic collision with another jumper’s parachute near a Georgia airport Saturday.

Jasmine Black, 48, was an experienced skydiver who completed more than 160 jumps before the one that claimed her life last weekend.

Upson County Sheriff Dan Kilgore said Black’s parachute hit the gear of another skydiver as they approached the landing spot at Thomaston Upson County Airport.

    The emergency parachute did not deploy, and Black perished, landing on the airport tarmac.

    The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.
