Israel vowed to retaliate and resume “the intense operations to attack Tehran and to destroy targets of the regime and terror infrastructure” after Iran launched missiles more than two hours into the shaky ceasefire.
Iran denied carrying out the airstrikes, but explosions and sirens were heard across northern Israel Tuesday morning.
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said armed forces are ready to “decisively respond” to any renewed attacks.
Trump had announced a ceasefire that was initially welcomed by regional leaders but is already starting to falter.
“THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT! DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!” the US president posted Tuesday morning.
