A Native American was arrested in connection to the fatal shooting of a 7-year-old boy on a Colorado reservation earlier this month.

Jeremiah Hight, 23, was arrested on Christmas Eve over the killing of Zamias Lang who was fatally shot at his Ute Mountain Reservation on Dec. 11.

In a video message addressed to the community, Tribal Chairman Manuel Heart announced the child’s death asking his loved ones not to seek retaliation.
