A Pennsylvania woman and her boyfriend were arrested after she allegedly took her two toddlers to a hospital with suspicious injuries earlier this month.
Police said Haley Province’s toddlers, aged 2 and 3, were brought to UPMC Children’s Hospital on Nov. 5 with multiple fractures in various stages of healing.
Doctors determined that the toddlers’ injuries could not have been the result of an accident. The younger child also tested positive for cocaine.
Province claimed that since her boyfriend Bobby Bender moved into her Rankin home, she started noticing bruising on the toddlers whenever they were left in his care.
She and Bender admitted using cocaine but said they had quit using it recently.
Officers found evidence at the couple’s home suggesting they were selling cocaine.
They were charged with six counts of aggravated assault, two counts of endangering the welfare of children, and one count of criminal conspiracy.
