Suspect in murder of former Clemson receiver arrested in Michigan

A suspect was arrested in Michigan over last month’s fatal shooting of former Clemson receiver Diondre Overton, authorities in North Carolina said.

20-year-old Jeremiah Diago Blanks is accused of fatally shooting Overton at a party in Greensboro on Sept. 7.

    A motive remains unclear but Blanks is now in custody in the Oakland County Jail in Michigan pending his extradition to North Carolina.

    Overton played for Clemson from 2016 to 2018. He was remembered as “one of the sweetest, spirited kids” by Clemson coach Dabo Swinney.
