Former NFL player dies at 36 in construction site accident

Former NFL wide receiver and Syracuse standout Mike Williams passed away last week after a tragic construction site accident.

Williams succumbed to fatal injuries and died at 36 after the September 1 incident that saw a steel beam hitting his head.

“Dang man hurts my heart seeing news of my former teammate and Buccaneers 2010 draft class brother Mike Williams,” said former teammate Gerald McCoy of the tragic passing.

    Williams played for Syracuse for three seasons before joining the Buccaneers in 2010 where he remained for four seasons and achieved great numbers including 133 receptions, 2,044 yards, and 20 touchdowns.

    The Buffalo native returned to his hometown Buffalo Bills to play his last season ending his career of 63 NFL games.
