Bank robber father & son dead after standoff with police in Connecticut

A father and son died within days after they allegedly carried out a bank robbery and engaged police in a standoff in Connecticut.

Zachary Fallon, 27, died hours after the incident Friday, while his father, 56-year-old Shaun Fallon, passed away Monday night.

It started when the Fallons held up Chelsea Groton Bank at around 10:30 a.m. on June 12 and made it off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

  • The pair traveled three miles west to a Super 8 motel in Groton, where police located them at around 5 p.m.

    The standoff lasted for about six hours, during which the suspects told detectives they had explosives and weapons, causing authorities to evacuate the hotel.

    At around 11 p.m., cops heard two gunshots from the Fallons’ room and found both injured.

    The younger Fallon died at around 4 a.m. Saturday. His father succumbed to his injuries three days later.
