An Alabama woman was arrested after she allegedly shot her husband while he slept with their five children.
Annie Huffstutler, 42, was charged with murder in the death of 38-year-old Shawn Christian Watson.
One of the couple’s children called 911 at around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, after hearing gunshots.
Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum said Huffstutler walked into the bedroom and fatally shot Watson.
“We have contacted our partners at the Wiregrass Angel House to provide assistance to the family as they begin this process of grief and the journey towards emotional recovery,” Bynum said.
A motive for the shooting remains unclear. In January, Watson paid tributes to Huffstutler on their anniversary.
“Happy Anniversary to my beautiful wife, another one in the books. Through all our sacrifice and determination, we will continue to grow together, love together, and have fun creating our lifetime of memories, I LOVE YOU Annie Huffstutler Watson,” he posted.
