Maryland man fatally shoots wife; travels to NJ rest stop before taking own life

A Maryland man took his own life at a New Jersey rest stop Monday after allegedly fatally shooting his estranged wife in Maryland.

The 45-year-old woman was shot in the head and killed at Smith Bus Service on Bucklina Avenue in Odenton at around 10:15 a.m., police said.

Detectives obtained surveillance footage of the crime and identified Trimall Stephenson as the suspect.

    Stephenson was located at a rest stop in Hamilton, New Jersey. As officers approached the car, the 48-year-old “ended his own life.”

    Anne Arundel County Police is investigating the incident.
