Former TCU football player, 2 kids killed on car crash on way to Texas for Thanksgiving

A former TCU football player and his two children were tragically killed in a car crash while heading to Texas to gather with family on Thanksgiving eve.

Zach Muckleroy, a former football alum turned construction firm CEO, died along with his two children Judson, 12, and Lindsey, 9, in a three-car crash on Wednesday.

The crash occurred off Highway 281, about 50 miles west of Austin. Muckleroy’s wife survived the deadly crash and is listed in critical condition.

    Muckleroy graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in Accounting and Finance and played for the Horned Frogs team in 1998.

    Former Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price mourned Muckleroy’s passing and remembered watching him while she was a child during a Friday night vigil.

    “We were all in Sunday school together. It’s unbelievable. The Muckleroys are just pillars of our community and great Christian folks, great family folks, good business people,” Price said.
