A South Carolina construction worker is accused of brutally slaughtering a co-worker with a machete at their North Charleston workplace Wednesday afternoon.
Police arrested 33-year-old Tyrone Clayton Campbell on charges of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Campbell was allegedly involved in an altercation with another temporary worker at the construction site shortly before 3 p.m.
The suspect ended up shoving the victim to the ground and began hacking him with the machete as he stood over him.
Witnesses said the suspect kept swinging the machete around before placing it in a bag and walking out of the scene.
When officers showed up to arrest him, Campbell allegedly pulled the weapon out at them and refused to drop it forcing them to use a taser to apprehend him.
Campbell was denied bond and is currently held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
