An Alabama man’s charges were upgraded to murder this week after the death of his girlfriend’s infant from abusive injuries.

The 4-month-old boy suffered significant internal injuries consistent with child abuse on April 25 and had since been placed on life-support at Children’s of Alabama hospital.

“The injuries were determined to be life-threatening and later on that same day, the child was placed on life support,” Tuscaloosa County Sheriff Capt. Jack Kennedy said.
