The parents of a 15-year-old Georgia girl won’t have the chance to celebrate her sweet 16 after she suddenly passed from a congenital heart defect Monday.

Nylah Tutt was a sophomore at Thomson High School where two other students died in recent months.

“She was put here for a reason.” Tutt’s mother said. “I think her reason was to bring light, bring happiness and bring joy to others.”

About her disease, the grieving mother said that Nylah came into the world with a lot of odds against her.

“You wouldn’t think anything was wrong with her. She defeated all of it. She may have not defeated it on paper, but physically and mentally it was defeated.”
