A father was charged with murder following a tragic crash that claimed his 10-year-old son’s life late Saturday, Harris County authorities said.
Detectives said that Emmanuel Camacho-Patino was intoxicated behind the wheel of a truck with his son riding in the passenger seat without a seatbelt.

While they traveled on FM 2100 in Huffman, the truck’s tire blew out causing the vehicle to flip over before landing on its rooftop in a ditch at around 9 p.m.
Police said that the father’s intoxication prevented him from controlling the vehicle after the tire’s hazard led to the fatal rollover crash.
Camacho-Patino suffered minor injuries but his son, who was partially ejected from the vehicle, died at the scene.
