Detroit authorities said Wednesday that officers were called to a local medical center over reports of an abandoned baby.

The infant boy was heard crying outside Riverview Medical Office while still strapped into a car seat and with a bag nearby.

“My officers went and purchased diapers for the baby and then we got the baby to the hospital,” Cpt. Conway Petty said.
