De Blasio’s daughter arrested during NYC demonstrations for unlawful assembly

The New York City Police Department confirmed that the daughter of Mayor Bill de Blasio has been busted among a protesters’ crowd on Saturday night.

25-year-old Chiara de Blasio was arrested for unlawful assembly and was released after being issued a desk appearance ticket. Authorities said that her arrest came after she blocked traffic in lower Manhattan and refused to comply with orders.

On the same day, more than 340 other demonstrators have been taken into custody in New York City alone. The Mayor didn’t comment on his daughter’s apprehension when he discussed the protests on Saturday: “To the peaceful protesters…let me be very clear: we here your desire to change these issues, the relationship between police and community, justice…Change is coming to this city.”
