Armed student gunned down by police outside Wisconsin middle school

A Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin student was fatally shot by police outside a middle school after it was determined that he was armed and represented a threat on Wednesday.

The male student was shot outside Mt. Horeb Middle School which was placed on lockdown for an active shooter threat, Attorney General Josh Kaul said.

Officers responding to an active shooter situation at the middle school used deadly force to prevent the suspect from entering the building.

  • “An initial search of the middle school has not yielded additional suspects,” the Mt. Horeb Area School District posted on social media.

    “As importantly, we have no reports of individuals being harmed, with the exception of the alleged assailant.”

    The suspect was said to be a student in the school district. His age and identity were not made public.
