W. Virginia mom arrested after daughter, 14, dies ‘emaciated, in skeletal state’

Authorities in Boone County, West Virginia have charged a 49-year-old mother in the death of her 14-year-old daughter that was reported Wednesday.

Julie Anne Stone Miller was charged with child neglect causing death after deputies responded to the home where the child lived with her mother and two grandmothers and made a heart-sickening discovery.

The girl was dead in the bathroom with deputies describing that her “appearance was shocking with an obvious emaciated, skeletal state.”

    Investigators also learned that the girl had not attended school since late 2019 and wouldn’t leave the home.

    Miller, being the girl’s “primary care provider”, was charged with child neglect causing death.
