A man died and another was injured early Saturday after a barn they were dismantling collapsed and fell into a burn pit, Monroe County authorities said.
A 911 caller reported the incident at 9:35 a.m. telling the dispatcher that a dilapidated barn fell on his two co-workers as it was being dismantled outside Waterloo.

County Coroner Bob Hill identified the deceased as a 58-year-old man from Wildwood, Missouri.
The surviving victim was taken by ambulance to a St. Louis hospital after suffering non-life-threatening injuries.
Sheriff Neal Rohlfing confirmed that a company was hired to dismantle the barn before it fell into a burn pit and caught fire.
