The search for Alsaudi involved lifeguards, officers, and Coast Guard agents and used drones, aircraft, and a vessel. However, authorities called off the search Friday and announced that it won't resume over the weekend.

“I write to you with a heavy heart. At this time, we have been told that authorities are no longer actively searching for Hamzah and he is considered missing,” the university said in a release.
