‘Mommy no!’: Neighbors recall hearing kids’ screams all overnight before being found dead at Baltimore apartment days later

Baltimore news, Maryland news.

A Maryland mother who now stands accused of slaughtering her small children at a Baltimore apartment had spontaneously detailed the horrific crime to arresting officers.

Defense for Jameria Hall, 28, claimed that the mom-of-two is unable to assist in her own case and needs medical health care after she perpetrated the double murders of Davin Thomas and Da’Neria Thomas, ages 8 and 6.

Hall allegedly stabbed Davin in the chest and strangled his sister with a piece of clothing before leaving them there with the knife and cloth still on their bodies.

A neighbor told detectives that the slain girl yelled “Mommy, no!” at some point on the night of Aug. 19 and that screams continued all over the night until the early hours of the morning.

Police were called shortly later as foul odor started emanating from Hall’s home.

“This is an unfathomable gut-wrenching tragedy,” Mayor Brandon Scott said of the double homicide.

“Davin and Da’Neira, who are 6 and 8, should be starting school, like the rest of the kids in the city.”

He added: “The tragic deaths of these two beautiful young people will be carefully and very thoroughly reviewed. We have to and we will close any gap that enables tragedies like this to occur.”
