According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, two people were killed in a shootout in South Charlotte early Saturday morning.
The detectives are investigating the double homicide on Lytham Drive near South Mecklenburg High School.
Officers found three individuals with gunshot wounds when they arrived at the scene. One person died at the scene of the shooting. Another person was taken to the hospital but died shortly after his arrival.
Police identified the deceased as Janet Elizabeth Scronce, 40, and Furahn Karren Woods Morrow, 39.
