Police announced the death of a man while seven victims remain in critical condition following a shooting on an outdoor cookout in Baltimore last Sunday.
The cookouts unfolded on both sides of the street as the armed man started opening fire repeatedly in the crowd "indiscriminately" in West Baltimore, not far from Perkins Square Baptist Church, Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison told reporters.
The wounded victims were six men whose ages range between 27 and 58-year-old and a woman in her 30s, all expected to recover.
The shooting, following which the eighth victim died at a nearby hospital, was described as "very tragic, very cowardly," according to Harrison.
