Wilkesboro news, North Carolina news.

A North Carolina hair salon has alerted customers that Tyson Foods employees aren’t welcome until early June over fears of coronavirus that infected hundreds of the meat processing plant’s personnel.

“To our clients who currently work at Tyson,” the SmartCuts salon wrote in a notice posted to the storefront. “Given the close contact experienced during our services, we will be unable to serve Tyson employees until approximately June 8, once the recent COvid-19 outbreak has been controlled and enough time has passed.”

As a result of the policy, Tyson workers would receive discounts once they are allowed back into the salon.

570 of the 2,244 workers at the Wilkesboro plant have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to a statement issued on May 20.
