A 20-year-old Georgia man is facing homicide charges over a deadly crash that claimed five teenagers’ lives on Labor Day weekend.
Emanuel Rene Esfahani was busted this week and charged with five felony counts of homicide by vehicle in the first degree among other charges.
Investigators believe that the suspect driving an Infiniti G35 was racing a Toyota Tacoma along I-85 reaching speeds of 107 miles per hour when he slammed into the teens’ truck throwing it off a sky-ramp.
The victims’ Toyota plunged 37 feet off the highway to a ramp below where it rolled over and struck a barrier.
All occupants but one died in the crash. The victims were aged between 16 and 19.
Esfahani’s vehicle landed in a creek and he sustained several broken bones.
