New York City news, New York news.

A Brooklyn woman was found dead late Wednesday inside the apartment she shared with her abusive boyfriend, police said.

Shortly before 8 p.m., the 62-year-old suspect called a friend to report the murder of his 60-year-old girlfriend sending police to the Kensington apartment.

The suspect locked the door and barricaded himself inside the home. An NYPD Emergency Service unit forced entry to the apartment where they found the victim's body covered with a blanket.

Neighbors said that Police would respond to the couple's apartment at least once a month and that they would hear the man yelling at the victim and throwing stuff.

“Last night I heard her crying,” one said. “And every time she made a noise, I heard him [yell], 'B****! B****!'”

Police didn't say how the victim died and are awaiting autopsy results.
