5-month-old Chicago girl shot in head while sitting in car

Police in Chicago is looking for the gunman who opened fire into an occupied vehicle late Friday killing a 5-month-old infant.

According to an incident report, the suspect’s car pulled up near the victim’s vehicle at around 7 p.m., and “an occupant from within fired shots.”

A 41-year-old male victim was riding another vehicle when he was hit to the eye area but is reported in good condition.

    “I spoke with this mother. Yes, she’s very distraught,” first responder Andrew Holmes said.

    “That’s a five-month-old baby. Nine months she carried that baby, nourished that baby and it takes a damn fool to discharge that weapon and take baby’s life.”

    He continued, speaking to the suspect: “I hope you don’t have no children yourself. Because if you do, you shouldn’t sleep at night, you should just turn yourself here knowing you got to look at your child every night.”
